2027 Presidential Race: Enter Lady Angela Johnson as She Submits Nomination Form at Youth Party National Secretariat
The Angela Johnson Presidential Campaign Organisation has confirmed the entrance of astute humanitarian, entrepreneur and legal luminary, Lady Angela Johnson, into the 2027 race for Aso Rock Villa, Nigeria’s top seat of power.
In an interview with the Director-General of the Angela Johnson Presidential Campaign Organisation, Elder Ambassador Emenike Eme, news crews gathered that, in line with the timelines and guidelines established by the party, Angela Johnson officially completed and submitted her Expression of Interest and Presidential Nomination Forms at the National Headquarters of the Youth Party in Abuja on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. With this milestone, Lady Angela has formally entered the contest for the Youth Party Presidential Ticket ahead of the party’s primary elections scheduled for May 29, 2026.
Speaking after the submission exercise in Abuja, the Director-General of the Campaign Organisation, Ambassador Emenike, described Lady Johnson’s candidacy as a strategic intervention aimed at repositioning Nigeria through competent leadership, fiscal discipline, innovation, and people-focused governance. Ambassador Emenike said, “Today’s submission is more than a procedural requirement; it is a statement of conviction that Nigeria deserves leadership built on competence, integrity, innovation, and service. Dr. Angela Johnson represents a new generation of leadership — visionary, technologically driven, compassionate, and committed to building a nation that works for all Nigerians rather than a privileged few.”
Ambassador Emenike also commended the leadership of the Youth Party for strengthening internal democracy through its transparent direct-primary model built around the ‘One Member, One Vote’ principle. He stated that by expanding democratic participation and deploying technology-driven voting mechanisms, the Youth Party continues to demonstrate that transparent and inclusive politics is achievable in Nigeria.
Ambassador Emenike said that following the successful submission of the nomination forms, the Angela Johnson Presidential Campaign Organisation stands prepared for the official screening exercises coming up shortly as part of the Youth Party presidential candidate selection process.
It will be recalled that over the past months, there have been increasing calls from various youth groups and professionals for Angela Johnson to join the race.
Foremost has been the Network of Youth Groups in Nigeria, which represents a coalition of over 50 powerful youth organisations, student unions, grassroots movements, and civil society advocates nationwide. In their statement titled “Nigeria Demands a Mother’s Heart, a Reformer’s Hand, and a Strategist’s Mind,” the network had listed mass unemployment, rising cost of living, persistent insecurity, and political exclusion of young people as part of issues requiring urgent intervention by a non-entangled mind such as Angela Johnson.
