Popular Broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku Found Dead in Ogun, Police Launch Investigation

The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the killing of veteran broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard in a shocking attack at her residence in Ogun State, triggering widespread grief across the state’s media community.

Oyesiku, a retired staff member of Ogun State Television (OGTV) popularly known among colleagues and viewers as “Aunty Kitan,” was reportedly found dead inside her home on Sunday after unidentified assailants allegedly invaded the property. Her security guard was also discovered dead within the premises.

According to police authorities, the incident was reported by residents who noticed suspicious activities around the residence located in the Iyana Agodo area of Ogun State. Detectives deployed to the scene found signs of forced entry and evidence suggesting a violent attack had occurred.

Police investigations revealed that the body of the security guard was discovered at the security post, while Oyesiku’s body was found inside her apartment. Authorities also noted that her vehicle was missing from the premises, raising suspicions that robbery may have been a motive behind the attack.

Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the incident and said a comprehensive investigation had commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths and identify those responsible.

The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, has reportedly ordered an intensive investigation, directing detectives and intelligence units to expand surveillance and pursue all available leads. The police assured the public that efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The killing has sent shockwaves through the media industry, where Oyesiku was widely respected for her years of service in broadcasting. Colleagues, friends, and community members have described her as a dedicated professional whose contributions to journalism and public service left a lasting impact on audiences across Ogun State.
