Tinubu Pledges Nationwide Infrastructure Expansion as FCT Transitway N2 Opens
President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to replicating the infrastructure development witnessed in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) across all parts of Nigeria.
The President gave the assurance on Wednesday during the inauguration of the newly completed Transitway N2 and its accompanying two bridges, executed by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) in Abuja.
Represented by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu said the Federal Government remains committed to ensuring that every region of the country benefits from investments in roads, bridges, railways and other critical infrastructure.
According to him, the administration’s infrastructure drive is aimed at promoting national connectivity, stimulating economic growth and ensuring that no part of the country is left behind in the pursuit of sustainable development.
“We are determined to ensure that every region benefits from investments in roads, bridges, railways and other critical infrastructure projects,” the President said.
Tinubu also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for the transformation taking place in Abuja, describing the development as consistent with the vision of the Abuja Master Plan.
He said the newly inaugurated Transitway N2 represents more than a transportation project, noting that it contributes to the long-term development of the nation’s capital.
“You have contributed to something larger than a roadway; you have contributed to the future of our capital city and therefore given pride to Nigeria,” the President stated.
The Transitway N2 project is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity within the FCT and support economic activities by enhancing transportation infrastructure.
The Federal Government said the project aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises infrastructure development as a catalyst for economic growth, urban renewal and improved quality of life for Nigerians.
President Tinubu reiterated that similar infrastructure projects would be extended to other parts of the country as part of his administration’s commitment to balanced national development.
