Gbajabiamila Honours ICPC Invitation Over Probe of Alleged Fake PFIPC Agency
The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Monday honoured an invitation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) as part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of the alleged fake Presidential Fiscal and Infrastructure Projects Commission (PFIPC).
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by Gbajabiamila’s counsel, Jiti Ogunye, who said his client appeared before the anti-graft agency at about 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026.
According to the statement, Gbajabiamila fully cooperated with investigators in line with the directive of President Bola Tinubu.
The lawyer disclosed that the Chief of Staff gave his testimony, responded to questions from investigators, and subsequently returned to his official duties after the session.
The statement read in part: “In full cooperation with the ICPC, acting as directed by the President of Nigeria, I hereby confirm that my client, Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, responded to the invitation of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and appeared at about 15:00hrs on Monday, July 20, 2026, as part of the ongoing investigation into the activities of the ‘PFIPC’ fake agency, among others.”
The ICPC is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged fake agency and other related matters. However, details of the investigation have not yet been made public by the commission.
