Oborevwori Inspires Team Nigeria During Morale-Boosting Visit in Scotland

The Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Onoriode Oborevwori, has paid a morale-boosting visit to Delta State athletes representing Nigeria at the ongoing 2026 Commonwealth Games in Scotland, commending their performances and urging them to remain focused as the competition enters its decisive stages. The visit underscored Delta State’s longstanding reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading producers of elite athletes.

During the meeting, Oborevwori congratulated the athletes for proudly representing both Delta State and Nigeria on the international stage. Delta State has once again emerged as one of the strongest contributors to Team Nigeria’s campaign in Glasgow, with a significant number of athletes competing across athletics, weightlifting, boxing, para sports and other disciplines. The state’s dominance in Nigerian sports has been built over decades through sustained investment in grassroots competitions, coaching and athlete welfare.

The visit comes as Team Nigeria continues its medal quest at the Commonwealth Games.
