PANDEF MOURNS THE PASSING OF CHIEF SENATOR DR EDWIN KIAGBODO CLARK
The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has announced the passing of its National Chairman, Chief Senator Dr Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, OFR, CON. Chief Clark died in Abuja on Monday, 17th February, 2025, at the age of 97, surrounded by family and loved ones.

The National Publicity Secretary/Spokesman, Olorogun (Sir) Obiuwevbi Ominimini Ph.D, in a statement, described Chief Clark as a national patriarch, renowned lawyer, activist, and politician. Ominimini stated that Chief Clark was a towering figure in Nigeria for over 75 years of active public service, known for his tireless advocacy for justice, equality, and human rights.

Obiuwevbi Ominimini quoted God’s word in Acts Chapter 13:36, saying “After he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, he fell asleep and was allowed to rest”. Ominimini also stated that a detailed programme for Chief Clark’s obsequies will be announced in due course.
Chief Clark was the leader of the people of the South-South region of Nigeria and the Ijaw ethnic nationality. He founded PANDEF, South and Middle Belt Leaders Forum (SMBL), amongst many others. His contributions to the legal profession, politics, community development, and the educational sector are immeasurable. As Ominimini said, “So soon, Papa Clark has gone to join his friend, Pa Ayo Adebanjo. May their souls rest in peace.”
