General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on Nigeria’s security chiefs to eliminate terrorism within 90 days or step down from office, as concerns mount over worsening insecurity across the country.

The revered cleric made the call in a video message shared on his social media platforms, where he urged the Federal Government to take decisive action against terrorists and those sponsoring violent activities.

Speaking against the backdrop of increasing attacks, kidnappings, banditry and insurgency, Adeboye said security agencies must be held accountable for measurable results in the fight against terrorism.

“If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say quietly to our government: move fast and tell our security chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign,” he said.

The cleric stressed that efforts to tackle insecurity should not stop at neutralising terrorists alone but must also target those financing and enabling their operations.

“When giving orders to the Service Chiefs, it should be made clear that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists but also their sponsors, no matter how influential they may be,” Adeboye stated.

He recalled that a similar directive was reportedly issued by former President Muhammadu Buhari during his administration, noting that while security operatives initially responded with urgency, the order was not fully enforced after the deadline elapsed.

According to him, Nigeria can only achieve lasting peace when both perpetrators of violence and those funding them are decisively dealt with.

Adeboye’s remarks come amid growing national outrage over persistent insecurity, including recent school abductions, attacks on communities, and killings in several parts of the country.

His intervention adds to mounting calls from religious leaders, civil society organisations and concerned Nigerians urging government authorities to strengthen security operations and restore public confidence in the nation’s safety.

The RCCG leader maintained that the fight against terrorism requires firm political will, sustained security action and a commitment to holding all actors in the chain of violence accountable.
