President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday received the leadership of the Senate at his residence in Lagos during a Sallah (Eid-el-Kabir) courtesy visit, in what has become a traditional post-festival engagement between the executive and legislative arms of government.

The Senate delegation was led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and included Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Solomon Adeola, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, and other principal senators.

According to the visit details, the lawmakers converged on Lagos to extend Sallah greetings to the President and also reaffirm continued cooperation between the National Assembly and the Presidency on national priorities. The meeting comes amid ongoing legislative-executive consultations on economic reforms, security, and governance issues.

Although the discussions were largely private, sources within the political circle describe such engagements as part of efforts to strengthen alignment between both arms of government ahead of key legislative decisions expected in the coming months.

The visit also reflects a recurring pattern of high-level political consultations between President Tinubu and the Senate leadership, particularly during major national or religious celebrations.
