APC Shifts House of Representatives Primaries, Releases Full 2026 Election Timetable
The All Progressives Congress (All Progressives Congress) has announced a slight adjustment to its timetable for the party’s primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections, postponing the House of Representatives primary election to Saturday, May 16, 2026.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party said all other previously scheduled primary election dates remain unchanged.

House of Representatives primaries: Saturday, May 16, 2026
Senate primaries: Monday, May 18, 2026
State House of Assembly primaries: Wednesday, May 20, 2026
Governorship primaries: Thursday, May 21, 2026
Presidential primary: Saturday, May 23, 2026
The party did not provide additional reasons for the adjustment but maintained that preparations for the 2027 general elections remain on course.
The APC, Nigeria’s ruling party, is expected to conduct one of its most closely watched internal contests as political alignments begin to take shape ahead of the next election cycle.
