Arsenal delivered a stunning performance at the Emirates Stadium, thrashing Leeds United 5-0 in their Premier League opener. Jurrien Timber opened the scoring with a header in the 34th minute, netting his first goal of the season. Bukayo Saka doubled the lead just before halftime, slotting home a precise pass from Timber.

In the second half, Viktor Gyokeres further solidified Arsenal’s dominance with a clinical finish in the 48th minute. Timber then scored his second goal of the game in the 56th minute, heading home another set-piece. Gyokeres sealed the win with a penalty in the 90+4th minute, expertly converting the spot-kick after Max Dowman was fouled.

The match saw new signing Eberechi Eze make his debut appearance, receiving a warm welcome from the Arsenal fans. However, the game was somewhat marred by injuries to key players Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka, who were forced off in the first and second halves, respectively.

Max Dowman, who made his debut at just 15 years and 235 days old, showcased his talent by winning the penalty that sealed the win for Arsenal. Dowman’s impressive performance has added another exciting option to Arsenal’s attacking lineup.

With this convincing win, Arsenal tops the Premier League table, setting the stage for their upcoming match against reigning champions Liverpool. “We’re delighted with the three points, but we’ll need to ensure we’re at full strength for the big games,” said Mikel Arteta, hinting at concerns over the injuries sustained during the match.
