Online comedian turned boxer Carter Efe has knocked out the reign of singer Portable, becoming the new celebrity boxing champion in a stunning unanimous decision victory at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event. The fight, which took place on Friday night at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, saw Portable lose his undefeated streak and his title as the celebrity boxing king. According to the judges’ scorecards, all three judges scored the contest 30-27 in favour of the skit maker after three intense rounds.

Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Badmus, entered the ring with his characteristic swagger. Having previously secured belts by defeating Nollywood actor Charles Okocha and singer Speed Darlington, he was confident of adding a third title to his collection. “I will use you to collect my third belt. Charles Okocha was bigger than you, Speed Darlington was bigger than you and I beat them. I will beat you now,” Portable had boasted ahead of the fight.

Carter Efe, however, remained ice-cold in response, simply replying, “One punch and you fall.” He made good on that promise inside the ring. While Portable started aggressively, throwing wild, erratic punches in the opening round, the taller Efe absorbed the pressure. He maintained a composed demeanor, using his height and reach advantage to counter with crisp uppercuts and sharp body shots that troubled the singer’s smaller frame.

In the second and third rounds, Portable continued to swing wildly and clinch repeatedly in an attempt to overwhelm his opponent. However, Carter Efe grew sharper as the match progressed, landing more solid combinations and controlling the pace of the fight until the final bell.

Following the official decision, an emotional Portable took to Instagram Live to reject the result, alleging bias and foul play by the organisers. “I was robbed. Carter Efe was not professional enough. He was strangling with his long hands and height. I threw him many punches, why didn’t you people count them? Any blow that I threw to him ought to count even if it meets him on the shoulder or hand. And to the organisers, I want my stream money amounting to about N200 million. Just give me my money before I cause trouble,” an angry Portable declared.

He continued his tirade by accusing the organisers of knowing that Efe’s physique would give him an unfair advantage, stating, “They did ojoro for me. All of you are mad. Carter Efe was just holding my neck. They knew he is tall and has long hands but still put him in a boxing match with me.”

Despite his visible frustration over the loss, Portable shifted his focus to his personal life, celebrating the recent birth of a son. He claimed that the new addition to his family meant more to him than any championship belt. “You can only buy a belt with money, but a child cannot be bought. You people cheated. I thought I was going to dance with my belt but I ended up with my new baby. My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I value that more than a belt. You can buy the belt but not my child,” he said.

In the aftermath of the victory, socialite and businessman Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, confirmed that he would honour his pledge of a N50 million reward for Carter Efe. Speaking at the event, E-Money congratulated the new champion, stating, “You know we put our money where our mouth is, and so congratulations Carter on your win. N50 million for you.”
