American singer Chris Brown has been handed an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, over an attack on music producer Abraham Diaw at a London nightclub in February 2023.

The 37-year-old singer was sentenced on Monday, October 26, at Southwark Crown Court after pleading guilty to affray in connection with the incident at Tape nightclub.

Evidence presented in court indicated that Brown struck Diaw on the head twice with a tequila bottle during the altercation.

Under the sentence, Brown will not serve immediate prison time, provided he complies with the conditions of the suspended sentence throughout the specified period.

The case stems from the February 2023 incident, in which Diaw was attacked at the London nightclub.

Brown’s vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, who was also involved in the incident, received a four-month suspended prison sentence.

The sentencing marks a legal development in the case against the Grammy-winning singer over the nightclub altercation.
