Ghanaian teenager Emmanuel Abrokwa has completed a historic move to Spanish La Liga side Sevilla, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2029.

The 18-year-old winger finalised his contract with the Spanish club after completing his move from Ghanaian Division One side Adabraka Elders.

Abrokwa’s arrival represents a landmark moment in Sevilla’s history, as he becomes the first Ghanaian player to sign for the Andalusian club. He is also the first Ghanaian to join Sevilla directly from a club based in Ghana, according to reports on the transfer.

The youngster was pictured after signing his contract alongside his representatives, Daniel Boifio Junior and Jorge Garcia of SBE Management, who played a key role in facilitating the move.

Abrokwa began his football journey with Peace Boys FC before moving to Adabraka Elders, where his performances attracted attention from scouts and clubs outside Ghana.

The winger has built a reputation for his pace, close control, dribbling ability and attacking threat. His performances at youth level also earned him recognition with Ghana’s national youth teams.

Sevilla’s decision to secure the teenager’s services is another step in the club’s efforts to identify and develop emerging talent, while the transfer provides Abrokwa with an opportunity to continue his development in one of Europe’s major football leagues.

The agreement was initially reported in July, with the contract understood to run until June 2029. The completion of the formalities has now made the move official.

For Ghanaian football, Abrokwa’s transfer is particularly significant because it opens a new chapter in the country’s relationship with one of Spain’s established clubs.
