Fashion Model Presley Gerber, Son of Cindy Crawford, Dies at 27

Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died in California.

Gerber died on Sunday, September 20, at a rehabilitation facility, according to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. His death was also confirmed by a representative for his family. The medical examiner has not disclosed his cause of death, and further examination is pending.

A representative for Crawford, Rande Gerber and their daughter, model and actress Kaia Gerber, asked for privacy following his death.

“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” the representative said in a statement reported by several US media outlets.

Presley was the eldest child and only son of Crawford and Rande Gerber, who also have daughter Kaia. He was born in Beverly Hills, California, in 1999 and followed his mother into the fashion industry as a teenager.

He was signed by IMG Models at 15 and later worked with major fashion brands including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Celine and Tommy Hilfiger. He also appeared alongside his mother in a recreation of Crawford’s famous Pepsi commercial during the 2018 Super Bowl.

Gerber had in recent years spoken publicly about his struggles with mental health and substance use. He launched a social media series called “Mental Health Mondays”, using his experiences to encourage conversations about issues he said many people hide.

His sister Kaia recently discussed his struggles in an interview with Vogue, describing the impact they had on their family while also expressing pride in his willingness to speak openly about his experiences.

In March, Presley also documented his experience undergoing ibogaine treatment in Mexico as part of his efforts to address his addiction struggles. His family publicly supported him during that period.

Gerber’s death comes weeks after Crawford publicly marked his 27th birthday, sharing a photograph of him as a child and expressing pride in the man he had become.

Details surrounding Presley Gerber’s death remain limited, and authorities have yet to release a cause of death.
