Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated a brand-new coaster bus to the State House Press Corps to enhance the mobility and operational efficiency of journalists covering activities at the Presidential Villa.

The donation is part of efforts to support effective media coverage and dissemination of government policies, programmes and official engagements at the nation’s seat of power.

Presenting the vehicle on behalf of the First Lady, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, said the gesture underscored the administration’s recognition of the critical role journalists play in informing Nigerians about government activities.

The presentation ceremony featured a test ride around the Presidential Villa, with Gbajabiamila joined by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, and other senior government officials responsible for presidential media operations.

Members of the State House Press Corps, led by its Chairman, Emmanuel Anule, expressed appreciation to the First Lady for the donation, describing it as a timely intervention that would significantly improve the logistics and day-to-day operations of journalists assigned to cover the Presidency.

Anule noted that the new vehicle would enhance the corps’ capacity to effectively report presidential activities and facilitate the movement of journalists during official assignments within and outside the Presidential Villa.

The donation highlights the First Lady’s continued support for institutions and groups that contribute to national development, while reinforcing the importance of a vibrant and well-equipped media in Nigeria’s democratic process.

The State House Press Corps comprises journalists from various media organisations accredited to cover the Presidency and report on the activities of the President, Vice President and other key government officials.
