Jay-Z Accuser Admits ‘False Accusations’, Says She Never Met Rapper

A woman who accused American rapper Jay-Z of raping her when she was 13 has admitted that she made “false accusations” against him, saying she never met or spoke with the music star.

The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, made the admission in a court filing submitted by Jay-Z’s lawyers in connection with a countersuit against her and her attorneys.

She had previously alleged that Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs sexually assaulted her after the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2000.

Jay-Z denied the allegation and described it as a “fictional tale.” The woman later withdrew her civil lawsuit against Jay-Z and Combs in 2025.

In the latest court document, the woman stated that she had never met or spoken with Carter and that he had never engaged in inappropriate conduct towards her.

“There is no truth to any of my claims against Mr Carter,” she said in the filing.

She also acknowledged the consequences of the allegations, stating that her accusations had caused Jay-Z “immense pain, suffering and damage.”

The woman said she became involved in the legal action after seeing a Facebook advertisement seeking people with sexual assault claims against Combs.

She said the advertisement triggered memories of an alleged sexual assault she experienced when she was 13, after which she contacted a law firm.

However, she said she could not remember authorising lawyers to file the lawsuit in 2024.

According to the filing, she subsequently developed doubts about her allegations and withdrew the lawsuit in 2025.

The document, which is partially redacted, also contains references to the woman’s personal circumstances.

Jay-Z’s lawyers had filed the countersuit against the woman and her attorneys following the allegations, but the case is now being dismissed.

The development marks a reversal in a case that drew considerable public attention because of the high-profile names involved.

Jay-Z has consistently denied the allegations, while Combs has faced a separate series of criminal and civil cases in recent years.
