NAF Precision Airstrike Destroys Terrorist Strongholds In Mandara Mountains
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded a major breakthrough in its counter-terrorism operations following a precision airstrike that destroyed terrorist enclaves hidden within the Mandara Mountains.
The operation, carried out on April 27, 2026, by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, targeted Guduf, a location described as a major stronghold for insurgent activities and logistics coordination.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the strike was launched after credible intelligence and sustained surveillance confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and supply hubs in the area.
NAF said its air assets were deployed in a coordinated offensive and successfully identified and engaged the targets with precision.
The operation led to the destruction of several strategic terrorist structures and logistics hubs, significantly weakening the operational capacity of the insurgents and disrupting their movement within the region.
The Air Force added that the mission was executed in strict compliance with established rules of engagement, with deliberate measures taken to minimise civilian casualties and safeguard the surrounding environment.
It noted that the latest strike highlights the military’s sustained determination to dismantle terrorist networks, cut off their supply chains, and strengthen security across Nigeria’s North-East.
The military has continued to intensify both aerial and ground offensives under Operation Hadin Kai as part of broader efforts to restore peace and stability in communities affected by insurgency.
