Nollywood Actress Foluke Daramola Joins Race for Reps, Picks APC Nomination Form

Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola-Salako has officially obtained her nomination and expression of interest forms to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The actress announced her decision on May 13, 2026, via a Facebook post, sharing photographs of herself holding the forms ahead of the 2027 general elections .

Daramola-Salako is seeking to represent the Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1 in Lagos State. Her entry into the race marks a significant development in the constituency’s political dynamics, as she emerges as the only female aspirant in a field largely dominated by male contenders .

Addressing party leaders and ward executives at the APC secretariat in Oshodi, including the party chairman, Saheed Animashaun, the actress-turned-politician emphasized her preparedness and vision for effective representation. “I am not just here to present my forms, but to assure you of my deep commitment and passion for the success of this aspiration,” she said .

Reflecting on her years of public engagement, she added: “I bring a well-thought-out transition plan, drawn from my long-standing involvement in contemporary politics, into a movement driven by exceptional, conscientious, and purposeful leadership” .

Highlighting her unique position as the sole female contender, Daramola-Salako expressed confidence in her chances. “I am aware that I am the only woman in this contest, and I remain confident and hopeful. I have what it takes to succeed,” she stated .

She further pledged people-oriented representation if elected to the Green Chamber. “When elected, my tenure will be creatively exceptional, people-focused, and truly rewarding. As a woman, my empathy and conscience are my greatest strengths, and I assure you our people will be proud of my performance,” she said .

In a message to her constituents, the actress wrote: “As your servant and potential aspirant for the House of Representatives, Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1, I, Hon. Foluke Daramola-Salako, lift you up in prayers: May Almighty God open doors of opportunities for us all and keep us safe. Together, we will build a stronger, better Oshodi” .

Daramola-Salako also urged residents of Oshodi-Isolo to remain focused and ambitious. “For the hardworking soul, weekend is not an idle day to stay still but active, reflecting and refining the past week’s activities. Take the moment to relax and embrace it to nurture your ambition with clarity of purpose for the week ahead,” she wrote .

In his remarks, APC Chairman Saheed Animashaun commended her courage and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to inclusivity . Daramola-Salako has commenced wide consultations with party stakeholders, community leaders, and grassroots mobilizers across Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I ahead of the APC primaries .

The cost of the expression of interest form for House of Representatives aspirants under the APC is N1 million, while the nomination form is N9 million, according to the party’s timetable for the 2027 elections .

Daramola-Salako began her acting career in 1998 and has featured in numerous Nollywood movies . Her entry into the race adds to the growing list of entertainers seeking elective positions ahead of the 2027 elections, following socialite Cubana Chief Priest who reportedly obtained forms to contest for a federal constituency seat in Imo State, and actor Zubby Michael who has also expressed interest in seeking a House of Representatives seat .
