The Executive Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council, Hon. Thompson Osagie, has once again demonstrated the essence of responsive and result-driven leadership, as multiple high-impact projects across the Local Government Area have been completed and are now set for commissioning.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Dennis Ugbudian, disclosed this in a statement, highlighting that landmark projects including the construction of ten lock-up stalls at Urhomehe in Urhonigbe North, a three-block classroom facility at Eso Primary School in Idunwebo, and the reconstruction of the Secretariat Link Road in Abudu have been successfully delivered. Several other strategic interventions are also nearing completion, further reinforcing a development agenda anchored on inclusiveness and sustainability.

The commissioning-ready projects have generated widespread enthusiasm among residents, with many describing them as long-overdue interventions that will significantly improve living standards, boost economic activities, and strengthen community development across Orhionmwon.

At Urhomehe, the newly constructed ten lock-up stalls stand as a testament to the administration’s focus on economic empowerment. Built to modern standards and complemented by essential infrastructure, the facility is expected to enhance commercial activities, provide safer business environments, and create structured opportunities for local traders to thrive. The Councillor representing Urhonigbe North and Deputy Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Enoma Evidence, commended the Chairman’s visionary leadership and prudent utilization of resources, stating that the project reflects a governance style rooted in accountability and people-centered development. Adding her voice, the APC Women Leader in the community, Mrs. Tina Ehigiator, described the project as a source of pride and relief, noting that it will positively impact the livelihoods of many families.

Equally significant is the near-completion of the Urhomehe Town Hall Complex, a project designed to serve as a central hub for community interaction, cultural expression, and civic engagement. With only finishing touches remaining, the facility underscores the administration’s recognition of the role of social infrastructure in fostering unity and collective progress. Speaking during an inspection visit, the Ward Secretary of Urhonigbe North, Hon. Jolly Odubu, lauded the Chairman’s foresight, emphasizing that the facility will provide a dignified and reliable venue for events, free from the uncertainties posed by weather conditions.

At Eso Primary School in Idunwebo, the newly completed three-block classroom building represents a major milestone in the effort to reposition the education sector within the Local Government. The project effectively addresses the challenge of overcrowded classrooms, thereby creating a more conducive environment for teaching and learning. Community leaders, including the Okaghele and PTA member, Mr. Andrew Idiaghe, expressed gratitude for the intervention, noting its importance to the future of the children. Engr. Edosa, the Head of Department of Works, while inspecting the project, affirmed that the construction meets required standards and commended the Chairman for ensuring quality execution and timely delivery.

At Ogan Market in Ogan community, ongoing construction of an additional ten lock-up stalls alongside a modern sanitary facility is progressing steadily and has reached an advanced stage. Upon completion, the project is expected to address space constraints, improve hygiene, and create a more organized trading environment, particularly benefiting market women. Meanwhile, in Igbanke, the six-block classroom project at Central Primary School, which includes headmaster’s quarters, is nearing completion, with work estimated at about 95 to 98 percent. The remaining installations, including electrical fittings and sanitation facilities, are expected to be concluded shortly. Engr. Edosa also noted that the structure aligns with established standards and reflects the state government’s prototype for educational infrastructure, as directed by His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

In Abudu, the successful reconstruction of the Secretariat Link Road marks a major breakthrough in addressing long-standing accessibility challenges. Previously affected by erosion and flooding, the road had hindered smooth administrative operations. Its completion now ensures improved access, enhanced safety, and greater efficiency within the council secretariat.

The array of completed and ongoing projects has continued to attract commendation from across the Local Government. The Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Endurance Egharevba, praised the Chairman for his transparency, dedication to service, and commitment to delivering projects that directly impact the lives of the people. He further acknowledged the administration’s consistency in workers’ welfare, particularly the prompt payment of salaries, describing it as a hallmark of responsible leadership.

Taken together, these achievements paint a clear picture of a leadership focused on tangible results, inclusive growth, and sustainable development. Dennis Ugbudian reiterated that Hon. Thompson Osagie’s administration is steadily redefining governance in Orhionmwon, leaving behind a legacy of impactful projects and renewed hope for the people. Ugbudian added that the commissioning dates for the completed projects will be announced in due course.
