Tonto Dikeh Foundation Launches Housing Project for Widows to Mark 41st Birthday
Nollywood actress and evangelist Tonto Dikeh has unveiled a housing initiative through her foundation to gift homes to vulnerable widows as part of celebrations marking her 41st birthday.
The Tonto Dikeh Foundation announced “Project Shelter & Hope,” a scheme under which five deserving widows will receive houses of their own.
The project aims to restore dignity and stability for beneficiaries while honouring the resilience and sacrifices of widows across Nigeria.
In a statement shared on social media, the foundation described the initiative as a transformative effort dedicated to rebuilding hope and changing lives, not merely constructing houses.
“The Tonto Dikeh Foundation in celebration of the 41st birthday of our Board Chairlady, Engr. Evangelist Tonto, proudly launches Project Shelter & Hope,” the post read.
“A transformative initiative dedicated to restoring dignity, stability, and hope to vulnerable widows. To honour their resilience, strength, and sacrifices, five deserving widows will receive homes of their own, offering not just shelter, but a fresh start and renewed hope for the future. Together, we’re not just building houses, we’re rebuilding hope and changing lives.”
The project is expected to commence on June 21, 2026, under the foundation’s supervision.

Tonto Dikeh had earlier explained that society faces the challenge of widow homelessness, which she described as a reflection of failure in social infrastructure.
She described a home as a vessel of memory, a laboratory of ambition, and a launching pad for future generations, noting that losing it endangers a family’s legacy.
The actress has been counting down to her 41st birthday in June, sharing posts on Instagram where she described herself as happy, healed, settled, grateful, fulfilled, favoured, and flourishing.
“I have no regrets, no bitterness, no fear. Only gratitude, growth, wisdom, peace, purpose, and expectation for greater things ahead,” she wrote.
The housing scheme follows other philanthropic efforts by the foundation, including a scholarship programme that has benefited thousands of students.
The foundation had previously reported that 3,670 students have already benefited from its Back to School scholarship initiative, which aims to empower youths and restore hope.
Tonto Dikeh urged the public to support the housing project through partnerships, reaffirming the foundation’s commitment to community development.
