Zelensky Meets European Leaders at Downing Street for Ukraine War Talks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with European leaders in London on Sunday for a series of high-level discussions focused on the ongoing war in Ukraine, military support, and efforts to strengthen regional security.
The meeting, hosted at 10 Downing Street, brought together key European allies amid continued fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces and growing diplomatic efforts to shape the next phase of the conflict.
According to officials, the talks centered on military assistance for Ukraine, long-term security guarantees, economic support, and prospects for future peace negotiations. Zelensky emphasized the need for sustained backing from European partners as Ukraine continues to defend its territory against Russian aggression.
The London discussions come at a critical moment in the conflict, with Ukraine seeking additional air defense systems, ammunition, and financial assistance while preparing for further military operations and reconstruction efforts.
British officials reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Ukraine, while several European leaders stressed the importance of maintaining a united front against Russia and ensuring that Kyiv remains in a strong position in any future negotiations.
The summit also addressed broader security concerns across Europe, including defense cooperation, energy resilience, and the impact of the war on regional stability.
Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022, European governments have provided Ukraine with billions of dollars in military, humanitarian, and economic aid. However, leaders acknowledge that the conflict remains one of the continent’s most significant security challenges in decades.
Following the meeting, participants pledged to continue close coordination on support for Ukraine while exploring diplomatic avenues that could eventually lead to a sustainable peace settlement.
