The Kano State Government has declared its commitment to delivering victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf pledging that the state would mobilise massive support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election.
The governor made the declaration during an interactive session with elected and appointed government officials at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, according to a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Yusuf said Kano would play a leading role in securing victory for the APC at all levels, including the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly and local government elections.
He described President Tinubu’s re-election as a collective responsibility of party members and government officials, stressing that the state government had no apology for supporting the President.
To strengthen the party ahead of the polls, the governor directed all political appointees in his administration who are yet to register with the APC to do so immediately.
He said every elected and appointed official must identify with the party and actively participate in consolidating its structures across the state.
As part of measures to motivate political office holders, Governor Yusuf approved the allocation of plots of land to more than 300 political aides, including Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Senior Special Reporters, Special Reporters and Personal Assistants.
He also approved the payment of N100,000 to each of the beneficiaries.
Speaking at the meeting, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ismail Falgore, said the APC would continue to market the achievements of President Tinubu in Kano.
According to him, constituency projects executed by members of the State Assembly with the support of Governor Yusuf have strengthened public acceptance of the party and positioned it for victory in the 2027 elections.
Also addressing the gathering, Kano APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, declared that “the battle line has been drawn” with the Kwankwasiyya movement, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in the next general elections.
At the end of the meeting, elected and appointed government officials passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Yusuf.
They also pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation and work collectively to secure victory for the APC at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
