The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has emphasized that all interventions by her Renewed Hope Initiative are not party biased, but rather aimed at improving the lives of families. In a statement, SSA Media to the First Lady, Busola Kukoyi, said Senator Oluremi Tinubu made the assertion during an interactive engagement with traditional rulers and religious leaders in Lagos State.

Busola Kukoyi said Oluremi Tinubu pointed out that the ongoing review of the 1999 constitution provides a unique opportunity to find answers to the question about the constitutional role of traditional rulers in nation building. Oluremi Tinubu noted that as the custodians of tradition and culture, traditional rulers are the closest to the grassroots, hence their influence weighs much.

The First Lady appealed to the traditional rulers and religious leaders to increase advocacy on Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS testing, and HPV vaccines for girls. She also informed them of the upcoming Green Nigeria Challenge, a competition organized by the Renewed Hope Initiative, and the Flow With Confidence program, which aims to provide adolescent girls in rural areas with a one-year supply of disposable sanitary towels.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu, lauded Senator Oluremi Tinubu for the various programs of the Renewed Hope Initiative, particularly in areas of agriculture, health, education, social investment, and economic empowerment. The Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, who spoke on behalf of the traditional rulers, appealed to the First Lady to help promote alternative schools for boys, just as she has done for girls.
