WORLD CANCER DAY 2026: “UNITED BY UNIQUE” – FIRST LADY OLUREMI TINUBU CALLS FOR COMPASSIONATE, PERSON-CENTRED CANCER CARE
Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, emphasized the importance of recognising that every cancer journey is unique, yet our hope and commitment remain shared.
In her message, the First Lady highlighted that by listening to personal stories and placing people at the centre of care, Nigeria can foster a more compassionate and effective response to cancer.
This approach, she noted, should focus on prevention, early detection, access to quality treatment, and continuous support for patients and families.
“By uniting our voices and actions, we can move closer to a future free from the burden of cancer,” Senator Tinubu said, urging collective effort in the fight against the disease.
World Cancer Day serves as a reminder that while each experience with cancer is different, our shared hope and determination can bring us together in the fight against this global health challenge.
