BREAKING: Trump Warns Iran After Supreme Leader Khamenei Killed – Threats of Unprecedented Force
Tensions in the Middle East have surged to dangerous new heights after Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a major military strike, and Iran threatened a powerful retaliation, prompting a stark warning from U.S. President Donald J. Trump.
Iran’s state media and multiple international sources confirmed that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who had led the Islamic Republic since 1989, was killed during a large-scale joint airstrike by the United States and Israel late Saturday. The attack also reportedly killed senior Iranian military officials and destroyed parts of leadership infrastructure in Tehran.
In response, Tehran has declared 40 days of national mourning and vowed that the strike, which it describes as an assassination, “will not go unpunished.” Iranian officials say the “pure blood of the martyred leader” will fuel their resistance.
On Sunday, President Trump issued a dramatic message on his social media platform Truth Social, referencing an Iranian threat of retaliation:
“Iran just stated that they are going to hit very hard today, harder than they have ever hit before. THEY BETTER NOT DO THAT, HOWEVER, BECAUSE IF THEY DO, WE WILL HIT THEM WITH A FORCE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE!”
Trump’s warning comes amid a rapidly escalating conflict that has already seen Iranian missiles and drones launched toward the U.S. military positions and Israeli targets across the Middle East.
Iranian leaders have strongly condemned the strike as a “crime,” with top officials calling the U.S. and Israel “filthy criminals” who have crossed Tehran’s red lines. The Iranian parliament speaker vowed “devastating blows” in retaliation for the attack and the killing of Khamenei.
Missiles and drones from Iranian forces have already struck military bases in the Gulf states, and Iranian proxies are reported to be mobilizing in multiple theatres of conflict. Civilian casualties have also been reported in several cities amid air defences and counterstrikes.
Khamenei’s death; a historic and unprecedented event, marks perhaps the most drastic shift in Iran’s political and military posture since the founding of the Islamic Republic.
Analysts predict that the power vacuum and outrage over the strike could fuel further regional instability and risk drawing more nations into direct confrontation.
International leaders are calling for calm, but with both Tehran and Washington exchanging stark warnings on Sunday, the world watches nervously as the situation unfolds.
