Six people were injured in a stabbing incident at New York City’s Penn Station on Sunday, prompting a major emergency response and the arrest of a suspect, authorities said.

According to law enforcement officials, the attack occurred inside or near the busy transportation hub, one of the busiest rail stations in the United States. Emergency responders and police officers quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area and provide medical assistance to the victims.

Authorities confirmed that six individuals sustained injuries during the incident. While several victims were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, officials said none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

Police subsequently took a suspect into custody and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack. Officials have not yet released the identity of the suspect or disclosed a possible motive.

Witnesses described scenes of confusion and panic as commuters rushed away from the area while emergency personnel attended to the wounded.

Penn Station, located in the heart of Manhattan, serves hundreds of thousands of passengers daily and is a major transit link for local, regional, and interstate travel.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses as they work to establish a timeline of events and determine whether the victims were specifically targeted or selected at random.

Authorities urged the public to remain calm, noting that there is currently no indication of an ongoing threat following the suspect’s arrest.

Further details are expected as the investigation continues.
