President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh round of appointments into key federal agencies, naming former House of Representatives spokesman Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas as the new Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).

The appointments, announced on Friday in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, also saw former Edo lawmaker Patrick Obahiagbon appointed Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), while former Anambra lawmaker Chukwuma Umeoji was reappointed Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the company.

Namdas takes over from Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned from office to pursue an elective position in his home state.

A former member of the House of Representatives representing Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, Namdas served as spokesman of the 8th House of Representatives. He also previously worked as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor Boni Haruna and recently contested in the Adamawa State governorship primary election.

Obahiagbon replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who stepped down as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, to pursue his political ambition in Edo State.

A lawyer and former federal lawmaker, Obahiagbon also served in the Edo State House of Assembly before his election into the National Assembly.

The President equally reappointed Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, after he resigned from the position to contest for political office in Anambra State.

Umeoji represented Aguata Federal Constituency in the 9th House of Representatives before returning to the NDPHC.

The Presidency said all the appointments take immediate effect.
