Delta Governor Rewards Student With N20 Million for World Spelling Bee Victory

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has rewarded a student from the state with a cash prize of N20 million for emerging champion at the World Spelling Bee Championship.

The governor announced the gesture during a reception held in honour of the student at the Government House in Asaba.

The young champion, whose academic excellence has brought pride to the state, was also lauded for displaying remarkable intellect on the global stage.

Governor Oborevwori reportedly stated that the cash reward is a reflection of his administration’s commitment to celebrating and investing in exceptional talent.

In his remarks, the governor emphasised that education remains a top priority for the state government.

He noted that such achievements reinforce the potential of Delta youths and encourage a culture of academic excellence.

The student was presented with the cheque in the presence of top government officials, family members, and school representatives.

The governor also pledged continued support for the student’s educational pursuits.
