NCPC Backs Bishop Adegbite for APC 2027 Christian Mobilisation Role
The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has applauded the appointment of its Executive Secretary, Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, as Director of Mobilization, Faith-Based (Christians), for the 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.

The commission described the appointment as a recognition of Adegbite’s leadership credentials, extensive experience and contributions to the Christian community and national development.
In a statement issued on Saturday, August 22, 2026, and signed by its Director of Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka, the NCPC management and staff expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for considering the commission’s Executive Secretary suitable for the assignment.
According to the commission, Adegbite’s experience as Executive Secretary of NCPC, Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel and Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State, gives him the capacity to undertake the mobilisation responsibility.
The NCPC said it was confident that Adegbite could mobilise significant support among Nigerian Christians for the APC ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
“We are convinced that our dear Executive Secretary … has all it takes to mobilize millions of Nigerian Christians to align favourably with the APC in the 2027 Presidential Election scheduled for 16th January, 2027,” the commission stated.
The commission also praised Adegbite’s performance since assuming office as NCPC Executive Secretary, saying he had helped reposition Christian pilgrimage through stakeholder engagement and the successful coordination of pilgrimage exercises.
It said his leadership had “rekindled and restored hope” in the commission, citing improved engagement with stakeholders and the conduct of hitch-free pilgrimage programmes.
Describing him as a “tested performer” and “highly resourceful leader,” the NCPC said Adegbite had demonstrated the capacity to deliver on major national assignments.
The commission expressed optimism that his new role would provide another platform for him to contribute to national service, while wishing him success in the mobilisation assignment ahead of the 2027 election.
