ADC Online Membership Portal Hit by Fake Registrations, Celebrity Photos
Barely 24 hours after launching its nationwide digital membership drive, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been inundated with fake names, fabricated National Identification Numbers (NIN), and photographs of prominent global figures.

The party unveiled its online registration portal on Sunday as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections. In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, existing members were directed to update and revalidate their details in compliance with the Electoral Act 2026 and guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However, shortly after the portal went live, screenshots circulating online showed membership cards generated with the names and images of high-profile personalities, including President Bola Tinubu, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, United States President Donald Trump, and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, among others.

The development has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with critics questioning the credibility and security safeguards of the exercise.
Former presidential aide Reno Omokri mocked the situation in a Facebook post, suggesting that the ease with which fake registrations were processed undermined the party’s claims of readiness to govern.
“A party that cannot organise itself wants to organise Nigeria?” he wrote, adding that other parties require the NIN as a mandatory verification step to curb fraudulent registrations.
Another Facebook user, Ayekooto Akindele, also criticised the process, describing it as poorly managed and vulnerable to abuse.
As of press time, the ADC had not issued an official statement addressing the reported loopholes or outlining measures to strengthen the integrity of its online registration platform.
