Ika South PDP Reaffirms Support for Turaki Tanimu Kabiru Faction, NWC
Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State have reaffirmed their unwavering support for Tanimu Turaki, SAN, and the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
The declaration was made during a strategic meeting of party leaders and stakeholders held in Abavo and presided over by the Ika South PDP Chairman, Amaechi Mumeh.
At the meeting, party leaders reviewed recent political developments within the party and across the country, resolving to remain firmly aligned with the leadership direction of Turaki and the NWC.
According to the stakeholders, their support is based on Turaki’s longstanding commitment to justice, party discipline, and the unity of the PDP.
The meeting also emphasized that the PDP structure in Ika South remains disciplined and organised, noting that members respect the established leadership hierarchy of the party and remain committed to protecting its integrity.
Participants further declared that their loyalty would remain intact regardless of the outcome of the Appeal Court judgment concerning internal party disputes.
They stressed that the PDP in Ika South would not align with the All Progressives Congress (APC) through individuals expelled from the party.
According to the leaders, the PDP remains the most credible political platform capable of delivering purposeful leadership and sustainable development to Nigerians.
They also reiterated their commitment to strengthening the party’s structure in Ika South and ensuring it remains united and well-positioned for future political engagements.
During the meeting, party leaders addressed the actions of a few individuals accused of betraying the party’s collective interest. However, they maintained that the PDP in Ika South holds no grudges and expressed hope that those concerned would reflect on their actions and return to the party fold.
The stakeholders also reaffirmed their respect and loyalty to prominent PDP leaders in Delta North Senatorial District, including Ejiofor Onyia, Esther Eduehi, and Sylvester Monye, whom they described as pillars of strength within the party.
They called on PDP members across the twelve wards of Ika South to remain calm, united, and focused, stressing that internal unity is essential for the party’s continued growth and success.
Party faithful were also urged to intensify grassroots mobilisation and political engagement in preparation for future elections.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous pledge by stakeholders to continue supporting the party leadership and to work collectively to ensure the PDP remains strong, united, and victorious in the years ahead.
