Ja’Quinden Jackson Has Full Movement After Being Taken Off Field in Ambulance
Philadelphia Eagles running back Ja’Quinden Jackson is reportedly doing well after a frightening injury during the team’s preseason clash with the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Saturday night.
Jackson was taken from the field in an ambulance after appearing to suffer an injury during the opening kickoff of the game. He was initially left motionless on the field, prompting medical personnel from both teams to rush to his aid.
The 24-year-old running back was placed on a backboard and stretcher before being transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The Eagles later provided an encouraging update, confirming that Jackson had strength and movement in all of his extremities.
Further reassurance came from Jackson’s agent, Damien Butler of CMV Sports, who said the player was awake, had full movement and use of all four limbs, and that a CT scan had returned negative.
Butler also expressed gratitude to the Eagles’ medical staff and first responders for their swift response, while thanking fans for their prayers and messages of concern.
The incident occurred on the opening kickoff, with Jackson involved in a tackle on New England returner Lan Larison. Jackson remained on the ground after the play, leading officials to halt the action while medical teams attended to him.
Players from both teams gathered near the sideline as Jackson was placed onto the stretcher. He was seen briefly raising his left arm before being taken away in the ambulance.
Eagles backup quarterback Tanner McKee said after the game that players had been told Jackson was responsive and moving, news that helped ease concerns within the team.
The Patriots ultimately defeated the Eagles 24-21, but the result was overshadowed by concern over Jackson’s condition.
Jackson only recently joined Philadelphia, signing with the Eagles on August 10 after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Jacksonville in 2025 after a college career that included stops at Utah and Arkansas.
For now, the positive medical update has brought relief to the Eagles and their supporters following what initially appeared to be a potentially serious injury.
