Kogi Leaders Pledge Massive Support for Tinubu in 2027 as Presidential Team Inspects Projects

Political leaders and government officials in Kogi State have assured President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of overwhelming support in the 2027 general elections, citing ongoing federal and state infrastructure projects and the administration’s economic reforms.

The assurance was given on Monday as the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Presidential Media Team concluded the third day of an inspection tour of federal and state government projects across the state.

Speaking in Gbede, Yagba West Local Government Area, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said residents were satisfied with the pace of development under the Tinubu administration and Governor Usman Ododo’s government.

He said the people would demonstrate their appreciation at the polls in 2027 by voting for President Tinubu and APC candidates at all levels.

According to Fanwo, the President’s economic reforms have increased resources available to states, enabling them to execute critical infrastructure and development projects.

Leading the inspection team, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, said the projects witnessed across Kogi reflected the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda and were evidence that the administration’s development efforts were yielding results.

He commended the Ododo administration for investments in roads, healthcare, education, security and human capital development, describing them as complementary to the Federal Government’s Eight-Point Agenda.

Among the projects inspected were a 15-kilometre asphalted internal road network with drainage and a newly constructed Primary Health Centre in Gbede, as well as the ongoing reconstruction of the Kabba–Egbe–Omuaran–Ilorin Road by the Federal Government.

The delegation also visited rural road projects in Okene, the Lokoja International Market, which is under construction on a 16-hectare site and reported to be about 50 per cent completed, and the Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja.

Dare said the Federal Government had made infrastructure development a priority, pointing to the reconstruction of the Kabba–Ilorin Road, which he noted had been neglected for more than three decades.

He added that improved road networks were essential for economic growth, industrial activities and the movement of goods across the country.

The presidential aide also highlighted ongoing investments in primary healthcare, saying more than 1,000 Primary Health Centres had been revitalised nationwide as part of the administration’s efforts to improve access to healthcare.

Welcoming the delegation to Egbe, Chairman of Yagba West Local Government, Tosin Olokun, and the Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, Joseph Oluwasegun, praised Governor Ododo for infrastructure development in the area and for appointing indigenes of the community into key positions.

In Okene, the state Commissioner for Works, Barrister Deedat, showcased newly constructed concrete-paved roads, bridges and erosion control projects, while commending both the state and federal governments for their development initiatives.

Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Engagement, Fredrick Nwabufo, said the Tinubu administration’s focus on roads and other infrastructure was aimed at stimulating economic growth and improving productivity across key sectors.
