Matawalle Calls For Collective Commitment To Zamfara’s Development As AANI Members Pay Advocacy Visit
The Honourable Minister of State for Defence and former Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, has called on stakeholders to unite for the progress of Zamfara State, declaring that the future demands dedication and collective effort.
The Minister made this appeal on Wednesday when he received members of the Alumni Association of the National Institute, AANI, Zamfara State Chapter, who were on an advocacy visit to his office in Abuja.
In a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Queenet Iheoma-Hart, the Minister commended the Association for organising a timely summit for indigenes of Zamfara State and stressed the need for collective commitment to the state’s development.
Dr. Matawalle urged all stakeholders to work together irrespective of their differences to ensure the state and the nation achieve greater heights.
Dr. Matawalle noted that the future calls for dedication to the service of Zamfara State to ensure that Zamfara becomes greater. He further emphasised that all hands must be on deck in all fields of human endeavour to make the dear state and the nation greater.
The Minister, who is also a former Executive Governor of Zamfara State, praised the Association for recognising the importance of dialogue and strategic engagement in addressing the challenges facing the state.
Speaking earlier, the State Chairman of AANI, Zamfara Chapter, Muhammad Mujitaba Isah, explained that the visit was in recognition of Dr. Matawalle’s statesmanship and exemplary leadership, both as former Governor and as a member of the Federal Executive Council.
Isah stated that the delegation sought the Minister’s guidance and wealth of experience ahead of the Association’s forthcoming summit, which is scheduled for July 2026.
Isah further disclosed that the summit would bring together leaders, policymakers, academics, and other stakeholders from Zamfara State to deliberate on critical issues relating to the state’s people, economy, and security.
He noted that Dr. Matawalle’s input would be invaluable in shaping the outcomes of the event. The Chairman expressed confidence that the Minister’s insights would help chart a path toward sustainable development for Zamfara State.
