MINISTER OF STATE FOR DEFENCE PREDICTS CONVINCING TINUBU VICTORY IN 2027 ELECTIONS

The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, has expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and predicted a convincing victory for the President in the 2027 general election. In a statement issued from his Abuja residence, Matawalle called for national unity behind the President’s reform agenda.

The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, condemned ongoing political manoeuvres aimed at undermining the administration, describing such efforts as self-serving, myopic and harmful to Nigeria’s democratic stability. He warned that premature power struggles distract from governance and erode public confidence. “President Tinubu has taken bold steps to stabilise the economy and strengthen national institutions,” Dr. Matawalle said. “Those who are plotting to unseat him are motivated by personal interests, not the public good. If given the chance to complete his reform programme, I am confident the President will win convincingly in 2027.”

Matawalle emphasised recent progress in the North and across the country, attributing improvements to the President’s policies. He urged political actors to prioritise constructive engagement over destabilising tactics. “Let us focus on solutions that deliver for Nigerians jobs, security, and stronger institutions rather than on rancour and short-term political gains,” Matawalle added.
