NIGERIA’S ELECTORAL BODY ASSURES NATION OF IMPECCABLE POLLS

The Independent National Electoral Commission has pledged to deliver a smooth and trustworthy election in the upcoming vote. The commission’s chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, provided these assurances during a critical planning session with leaders of the nation’s media organizations.

Professor Amupitan confirmed that logistical preparations are in their final phase. Key tasks such as finalizing the voter register, coordinating the deployment of staff, and organizing election materials have all been completed. He highlighted the scale of the exercise, noting that millions of citizens are registered to vote at numerous polling stations across the country. The commission is dedicated to offering every qualified voter an unobstructed chance to cast their ballot, he emphasized.

Security of the electoral process is a paramount concern, the chairman stated. He detailed comprehensive plans developed jointly with national security agencies to protect voters, officials, and voting materials before, during, and after the election.
