Sam Amadi Accuses NDC Leaders of Exploiting Aspirants Ahead of 2027 Elections
Former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Sam Amadi, has accused some leaders of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) of exploiting political aspirants and undermining the party’s credibility ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Amadi made the allegation in a post on X on Wednesday while congratulating Peter Obi and Seriake Dickson over their clearance by the party.
According to him, although the party has credible leaders, some individuals occupying leadership positions within the NDC are allegedly damaging its image and weakening its potential as a platform for political change.
“Congrats to Peter Obi and Seriake Dickson, two great leaders. But NDC has a lot of terrible people in leadership that will not make it a great vehicle of change,” Amadi wrote.
He further alleged that some party leaders were behaving no differently from politicians in what he described as “discredited parties,” accusing them of exploiting aspirants seeking various political offices.
“These corrupt guys are just exploiting aspirants and behaving no different from rotten leaders of the discredited parties,” he added.
Amadi warned that unless the alleged conduct changes, Nigerians may struggle to take the opposition party seriously ahead of the next election cycle.
“These guys either shape up or move out if they want Nigerians to take the party seriously,” he stated.
The remarks come amid growing political realignments and heightened activities among opposition parties as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
