Sokoto Tension: Cleric Reportedly Stabbed During Friday Prayer, Attacker Allegedly Killed By Mob
Tension reportedly heightened in Sokoto on Friday following an alleged stabbing incident involving Islamic cleric, Malam Musa Ayuba Lukuwa, during the Jumu’at prayer at Mabera.
According to unverified accounts circulating in the city, a young man allegedly disguised himself as a worshipper and attended the Friday prayer at the mosque before reportedly attacking Lukuwa with a knife.
Sources said the cleric was rushed to a hospital for medical attention following the incident. However, details of his condition remained unclear as of the time of filing this report.
Another source claimed that the alleged attacker was overpowered by worshippers at the mosque and subsequently killed by a mob. The circumstances surrounding the reported death could not be independently verified.
