Tinubu Returns to Lagos After France, Kenya, Rwanda Visits

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Lagos following official engagements in France, Kenya and Rwanda.

According to a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the President arrived on Friday evening at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, at about 7:12 pm.

He was received by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa and other government officials.

During his stay in France, Tinubu held meetings with international investors where he defended his administration’s economic reforms, stressing transparency, fiscal discipline and investor confidence.

The President also participated in the Africa Forward Summit held in Nairobi, Kenya, alongside Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.

At the summit, Tinubu advocated reforms in the global financial system and deeper African economic integration aimed at boosting the continent’s growth and prosperity.

He further highlighted Nigeria’s blue economy potential and pledged to share Nigeria’s maritime intelligence infrastructure with willing Gulf of Guinea countries.

While in Nairobi, the Nigerian leader also met with Madagascan President Michael Randrianirina.

In Kigali, Rwanda, Tinubu attended the Africa CEO Forum alongside African leaders, investors and chief executives to discuss strategies for accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration and increased cross-border investments.

He also held talks with Paul Kagame and met representatives of multinational organisations including the International Finance Corporation, APM Terminals and the Winme Group.

According to the Presidency, the meetings yielded favourable outcomes for Nigeria.

The statement added that President Tinubu is expected to participate in the All Progressives Congress primary elections scheduled to begin on Saturday.

Before returning, Tinubu had urged party members and aspirants to maintain peace and conduct themselves responsibly during the primaries.
