DEADLY AMBUSH IN ZAMFARA CLAIMS EIGHT SECURITY LIVES

At least five policemen and three personnel of the Zamfara Community Protection Guards were killed in a bandit ambush along the Funtua-Tsafe-Gusau road. According to locals, the security team was on a joint routine patrol when the bandits opened fire.

The Zamfara State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that the officers engaged the assailants in a fierce gun duel. During the exchange, several bandits were neutralized, while others fled with suspected gunshot wounds.

The command emphasized that five gallant police officers paid the supreme price. Normalcy has been restored to the area, and further reinforcement has been deployed to maintain peace and ensure commuter safety.

Governor Dauda Lawal condemned the incident on his Facebook page and commiserated with the families of the victims.
