Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has taken a significant step within the All Progressives Congress by attending a key party committee meeting. His Excellency joined other top APC leaders on Monday for the inaugural meeting of the party’s Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation. The committee is tasked with addressing internal disputes and emerging threats within the ruling party.

The high-powered committee is chaired by Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni. Its membership includes Governors AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, Uba Sani of Kaduna State, and Umar Namadi of Jigawa State. Also serving are Governors Bassey Otu of Cross River State, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State.

Further members of the committee are Senator Adamu Aliero; the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle. The former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, are also members. Muiz Banire (SAN) serves as the committee’s Secretary.

The committee was inaugurated last December. At that event, Governor Mai Mala Buni outlined its mandate. He stated, “It will adopt strategic engagements and wide consultations to deliver inclusive and lasting solutions that give both old and new members, especially aggrieved ones a renewed sense of belonging.” Governor Buni added that the committee would also take proactive measures to address potential threats to party unity. He urged members not to allow personal interests or sentiments to override the collective good of the party.
