Pastor Adejola has reaffirmed his commitment to service-oriented leadership, restating the vision behind his previously declared ambition and pledging to prioritise the welfare of the people.

Addressing supporters under the GB-Irorun platform a movement anchored on the promise of relief and improved living conditions the cleric and community leader said his aspiration remains rooted in sacrifice, responsibility and accountability.

He noted that his decision to declare for leadership last year was driven by what he described as a moral obligation to step forward at a critical time.

“Leadership is not about titles; it is about responsibility the responsibility to stand in the gap, to listen carefully and to act decisively in the interest of the people,” he said.

Focus on practical solutions

Pastor Adejola explained that his ambition is centred on delivering tangible results through careful planning, inclusive engagement and faithful execution of policies.

According to him, the goal of the GB-Irorun movement is to ensure that hope is not merely a campaign slogan but a lived reality reflected in improved livelihoods, expanded opportunities and stronger community structures.

He stressed that his leadership approach would prioritise youth empowerment, economic development and support for vulnerable groups, while fostering transparency and trust in governance.

Call for collective action

Supporters at the gathering described him as a leader with a long-standing record of community service and grassroots engagement. They said his consistent advocacy for ethical leadership and people-focused initiatives has earned him broad support.

Reaffirming his resolve, Pastor Adejola maintained that his ambition is not about personal gain but about answering a call to serve.

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio has commended the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno for the peaceful conduct of the State congress of All Progressives Congress.

Akpabio who participated in the Congress held at Uyo Township Stadium in Akwa Ibom State, observed the peaceful ambience that trailed the party event. He noted that in the past such events were always rancourous and marked by factionalization and acrimony.

The Senate President commended Pastor Eno for broad consultation and inclusive governance which led to the emergence of a new executive committee for the party in the state through consensus as prescribed by the constitution of the party.

A statement by the Special Assistant on Media/Communication to the President of the Senate, Anietie Ekong quoted Senator Akpabio as saying: “Somebody alluded to the fact that it was not always like this. Congresses in the State were always characterized by factions.

“While some gathered here at the Stadium, others would gather at a hotel to do their own parallel congress. But you will be shocked that before you get to Abuja it is the rag-tag congress that would be recognized by the Party.

“Just recently when the team came from Abuja to conduct the congress here, they had to be led to the State Office of the Department of State Services (DSS) for their safety. Let me tell you that even Ward and Local Government Congresses in some States, people lost their lives.

“But here we are in Akwa Ibom State conducting the congress as if we are in a church to take communion. Today I give glory to God for the peace in Akwa Ibom State. And this is because we are led by a true man of God who practices godliness in his heart.

“This is uncommon, this is unprecedented and it will go down in history as the first most peaceful congress in Nigeria. We will continue to support Governor Umo Eno. I can predict that even the coming elections in Akwa Ibom State, will be as peaceful as this congress.

“Akwa Ibom has continued to show leadership, Akwa Ibom has continued to show unity totally unprecedented. There is no single untowards incident throughout the Ward, Local Government and State congresses. Even old political foes have been reconciled today with this congress.”

In a voice vote, the party faithful pledged their support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, Senator Akpabio and Governor Eno.

In his remarks the Governor thanked the President of the Senate for his presence which he said had dignified the Congress. He thanked God for the peaceful conduct of the Ward, Local Government and State Congresses and pledged the support of the State for the administration of President Tinubu.

The Congress re-elected Obong Stephen Ntukekpo as the State Chairman to lead the State Executive Committee of the Party with a focus on unity and grassroots mobilization.

Barely 24 hours after launching its nationwide digital membership drive, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been inundated with fake names, fabricated National Identification Numbers (NIN), and photographs of prominent global figures.

The party unveiled its online registration portal on Sunday as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections. In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, existing members were directed to update and revalidate their details in compliance with the Electoral Act 2026 and guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However, shortly after the portal went live, screenshots circulating online showed membership cards generated with the names and images of high-profile personalities, including President Bola Tinubu, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, United States President Donald Trump, and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, among others.

The development has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with critics questioning the credibility and security safeguards of the exercise.

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri mocked the situation in a Facebook post, suggesting that the ease with which fake registrations were processed undermined the party’s claims of readiness to govern.

“A party that cannot organise itself wants to organise Nigeria?” he wrote, adding that other parties require the NIN as a mandatory verification step to curb fraudulent registrations.

Another Facebook user, Ayekooto Akindele, also criticised the process, describing it as poorly managed and vulnerable to abuse.

As of press time, the ADC had not issued an official statement addressing the reported loopholes or outlining measures to strengthen the integrity of its online registration platform.
