Trump Threatens Massive Strikes on Iran if Talks Fail

President Donald Trump has warned of sweeping military action against Iran if ongoing discussions with what he described as a “new and more reasonable regime” fail to yield an agreement.

In a strongly worded statement on Monday, Trump said the United States is making “great progress” in talks aimed at ending its military operations in Iran.

However, he cautioned that failure to reach a deal soon or any continued disruption to the Strait of Hormuz would prompt severe consequences.

The US president threatened that Washington could “blow up and completely obliterate” critical Iranian infrastructure, including electric generating plants, oil wells, and Kharg Island, a key hub for Iran’s oil exports. He added that desalination facilities may also be targeted.

Trump said the potential action would be in retaliation for what he described as decades of violence against American personnel, accusing Iran of responsibility for the deaths of US soldiers over a 47 year period.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the region, with global attention focused on the security of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for international oil shipments.

There has been no immediate response from Iranian authorities, while analysts warn that such rhetoric could further escalate an already volatile geopolitical situation.
