American singer D4vd has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, in a case that has shocked fans and the global music industry.

The 21-year-old artist, whose real name is David Burke, entered his plea during a court appearance in Los Angeles on Monday, shortly after prosecutors formally filed charges against him.

According to authorities, Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been reported missing in 2024 before her remains were discovered months later in September 2025 inside a Tesla linked to the singer.

Prosecutors allege that D4vd was involved in a sexual relationship with the minor and later killed her to prevent the exposure of the relationship, which they say could have damaged his career.

The case has been described by officials as “brutal and horrific,” with additional charges filed against the singer, including alleged sexual abuse of a minor and mutilation of human remains.

Investigators say the timeline of events spans over a year, with the victim last seen in April 2025 before her body was discovered months later. Authorities also noted that the delay between her death and the discovery of her remains complicated the investigation due to degraded evidence.

Despite the serious allegations, D4vd’s legal team maintains his innocence, stating he was not responsible for the teenager’s death.

He is currently being held without bail, and prosecutors have not ruled out seeking the death penalty if he is convicted.

The case has drawn widespread attention, not only because of the disturbing details but also due to the singer’s rapid rise to fame in recent years, fueled by viral hits and major performances.
