The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has recorded a boost to its ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections, with three prominent political figures formally joining the party at a reception held in Abuja.

The new entrants were received by the party’s National Leader, Henry Seriake Dickson, alongside the National Chairman, Moses Cleopas, and members of the National Working Committee.

Party leaders described the development as a sign of growing national confidence in the NDC and its political vision.

Those who defected to the party include a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, Babatunde Alli; the 2023 governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Taraba State, Mohammed Sani Yahaya; and Edo-born former member of the House of Representatives and ex-board member of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma.

A major highlight of the event was the formal decoration of the new members with NDC fez caps and the presentation of membership cards, symbolising their full integration into the party.

The development comes as political parties continue to realign and consolidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
