President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the high-level Africa Forward Summit, a major gathering of African leaders focused on economic transformation, innovation, and sustainable development across the continent.

Tinubu touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the early hours of Monday, May 11, 2026, ahead of the summit co-chaired by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The summit, also referred to as the 2026 Africa-France Summit, is expected to bring together heads of state, investors, development institutions, and business leaders to discuss strategies for accelerating Africa’s economic growth and strengthening international partnerships.

Key areas on the agenda include green industrialisation, digital innovation, infrastructure expansion, climate financing, energy transition, and sustainable development initiatives aimed at boosting Africa’s competitiveness in the global economy.

President Tinubu’s participation comes amid renewed efforts by Nigeria to strengthen economic diplomacy, attract foreign investment, and deepen strategic partnerships across Africa and Europe.

The summit is also expected to address reforms in global financing systems, trade cooperation, and the role of technology and innovation in driving inclusive development across African economies.

Following the Nairobi meeting, Tinubu is scheduled to travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the 2026 Africa CEO Forum holding from May 14 to 15.

The forum will convene top African business executives, policymakers, investors, and global economic stakeholders to explore investment opportunities, regional integration, and private sector-led growth on the continent.

Nigeria is expected to use both engagements to promote investment opportunities and strengthen bilateral and multilateral economic cooperation with African and international partners.
