The Transmission Company of Nigeria (Transmission Company of Nigeria) has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise at its McPherson 132/33kV Transmission Substation in Osogbo Region.

The maintenance, scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2026, will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., according to the statement issued by the company.

Purpose of Maintenance

TCN said the exercise will focus on preventive maintenance of a 40MVA 132/33kV power transformer, aimed at ensuring continued optimal performance and improving the reliability of electricity transmission in the affected network area.

The company explained that the routine checks are part of its broader asset management strategy to prevent system failures and enhance operational efficiency.

Areas to Experience Power Interruption

During the maintenance period, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company) will be unable to receive bulk electricity supply from the substation.

As a result, customers in MacPherson, University, and Ogunmakin areas are expected to experience temporary power interruption.

TCN Apologises for Inconvenience

The transmission company apologised to affected customers for any inconvenience caused, noting that the maintenance is necessary to ensure stable and reliable electricity supply in the long term.

TCN reiterated its commitment to maintaining and upgrading critical transmission infrastructure across the country to support improved power delivery nationwide.
