Adeleke Relocates Widow, Children of Slain Accord Party Member to Osogbo
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has relocated the widow and four children of a slain Accord Party member from Esa Oke in Obokun Local Government Area to Osogbo, the state capital, as part of measures to ensure their safety and welfare.

The governor also approved full educational scholarships for the deceased’s children and provided accommodation for the family.
The relocation followed the killing of Ajayi Aderogba, an Accord Party member who was reportedly shot dead last Tuesday in Esa Oke.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the state government said the relocation fulfilled a promise Adeleke made during a condolence visit to the bereaved family.
According to the statement, the widow, Mrs. Tolulope Aderogba, required immediate medical attention upon arriving in Osogbo, prompting the governor to direct that she receive urgent treatment.
The statement added that arrangements had been concluded for the family’s accommodation, while the children would enjoy full government-sponsored education.
“The relocation process, coordinated by Hon. Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson to the Imole Campaign Council, and the member representing Obokun State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi, was completed on Friday evening following concerns over the safety of the widow and her children,” the statement said.
It also noted that Olajengbesi made a financial donation to support the family’s welfare.
During a visit to the relocated family, Governor Adeleke assured them of the government’s commitment to their protection and promised that those responsible for Aderogba’s killing would be apprehended and prosecuted.
He also expressed concern that some residents of Esa Oke who supported the Accord Party were allegedly still facing threats and urged the Nigeria Police Force to take proactive steps to prevent further violence in the community.
“I am happy the widow and children are now fully secured here in the state capital. We have made all arrangements for the schooling and other needs of the family. The state will ensure their safety, care and justice for the late Aderogba,” the governor said.
Adeleke disclosed that he was closely monitoring the implementation of directives issued by the Inspector-General of Police regarding the investigation into the killing.
According to him, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police had already convened an operational meeting with security commanders in the state following the Inspector-General’s directives.
“We expect immediate action to implement the directives of the Inspector-General of Police. I am hoping that no police officer will disregard the operational orders duly issued by the IGP,” he said.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring justice for the slain party member and restoring confidence in the security of residents across the state.
