Wike Approves Promotion of 3,592 FCT Civil Servants

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of 3,592 civil servants following the successful conclusion of the 2025 promotion exercise conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission.

Chairman of the Commission, Emeka Ezeh, announced the development on Wednesday, describing the exercise as successfully completed after promotion examinations for senior officers were held between July 1 and 3, while junior staff sat for their examinations on July 10.

Ezeh disclosed that the minister had also directed the commission to immediately commence preparations for the 2026 promotion exercise to ensure that eligible workers are promoted as and when due.

He said the directive reflects the administration’s commitment to improving staff welfare alongside ongoing infrastructural development across the Federal Capital Territory.

“Under this administration, it is a priority that FCT workers get promoted as and when due. This is to complement the tremendous work that the FCT Minister is doing in infrastructural development of the Territory, and for us, the workers will not be left out in the celebrations marking the third anniversary of Mr President,” Ezeh said.

According to him, the decision is aimed at ensuring civil servants benefit from the gains of the administration’s development initiatives in the FCT.

The commission chairman also commended workers for their orderly conduct throughout the 2025 promotion exercise and urged those expected to participate in the 2026 exercise to maintain the same level of discipline, professionalism and cooperation.
