Manchester United’s difficult Premier League campaign continued on Sunday after they were held to a 1–1 draw by Leeds United at Elland Road, extending their wait for a league victory.

The visitors took the lead in the 35th minute through Bryan Mbeumo, who finished after a creative pass from Youri Tielemans. United went into the interval with the advantage but were unable to maintain it after the break.

Leeds responded strongly in the second half, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin drawing the hosts level in the 50th minute. The forward capitalised on a corner situation to restore parity, giving the home side renewed momentum.

The equaliser exposed United’s difficulty in protecting their lead, and Leeds pushed forward in search of a winner. Manchester United also had opportunities to regain control, but neither team managed to find a decisive second goal.

The result means United’s wait for a Premier League win has stretched to 49 days, adding to the scrutiny surrounding their performances and manager Michael Carrick. The team had entered the match under pressure following an inconsistent run of results.

For Leeds, the draw represented a hard-earned point against one of English football’s most prominent clubs. However, the home side may feel they missed an opportunity to claim all three points after improving considerably following the interval.

Manchester United will now need to turn their performances into victories if they are to halt their slide and ease the growing pressure, while Leeds can take encouragement from their second-half response.
